Used the petal technique for the scales but softened the frosting a bit so the scales weren't so rigid.
Writing turned out terrible, but since it was for my son I didn't bother re-doing it ;) Dogs are from a chocolate mold.
Petal/swirly Rose Cake
First saw these techniques combined here on CC by peggyslee, so thank you! One tip, though, use a smaller tip for the bottom than the 1M you use for the roses. It was way too big for my taste and ended up all weird because I was trying to make it smaller than it was. Other than that, I love the two combined and will be adding it to my regular cakes. Got LOTS of oohs and aahs.
Pumpkin top (shaped pan) layered on an 8" round base. All bc frosting. Thanks for looking!
All bc frosting. Inside is just a yellow cake that I tinted and layered. Thanks for looking!
German Chocolate With Roses
Been looking for an excuse to try out my rose skills (1st time) and finally found one. BC roses and border with coconut pecan frosting. Rose frosting was a bit too thick, I think, because the petals started splitting, but I was pretty happy with it overall. Thanks for looking!
