Just made this up as I went along. My first attempt at a 2 tier cake...was a bit lopsided after cooking so decided to make it into topsy turvy cake. Bottom layer is chocolate cake with choc buttercream layers. Top layer is vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream filling.
Did this cake in my Wiltons Class....didnt like the sash look so took that off and added my own touches of black and orange flowers. The cake board is covered with marbled orange and black fondant. The cake is the long lasting Chocolate Cake on CC. Made it a week ago.... iced it yesterday. Will get work mates to test taste it tomorrow. It will have been in fridge a week before icing. The filling is one layer of dark chocolate buttercream and one layer of cookies and cream buttercream filling.
This is my first attempt at a character cake. Made the choc cake recipe from here that lasts 12days!! Filled with choc buttercream. Covered in fondant. Didnt turn out too bad...few wrinkles!!
