'lazy Days In The Sun' Birthday Cake

Two of my good friends from Norway came to visit me in Australia, and those Vikings absolutely love to enjoy the Gold Coast beaches(!), so for the birthday cake I decided to do figures of the two of them 'on the beach', slightly sunburned but oh-so happy =)

Girly Suitcase/luggage Birthday Cake

First 'real' (paid) cake order =) Client wanted to surprise her daughter for her 18th birthday party with a cake. The lucky birthday girl had just returned from a big Europe trip (her big prezzie), so I created a suitcase which incorporated her favourite colour (pink) and luggage stickers from the destinations she'd visited. The client loved the cake (phewww...;-) Chocolate mud cake with Ferrero Rocher filling, all edible/fondant+edible images decorations. TFL!

Noah's Ark Cake 4 Charity

Made this Noah's Ark cake for a charity event in New Zealand (it was a Christian event, so this design was a hit). Travelled by plane with majority of the structure, and made it there (almost perfectly) intact, with no customs issues-thankfully. The cake raised quite a bit of $$ for The Bamboo school/orphanage for children in Thailand =) (www_bambooschool_org). Thanks for all the inspo here on CC!

Happy New Year 2011

Marbelled white/dark choc mud cake with ganache. Fondant decorations. Ran out of time so didn't get to finish it 100%, but everybody loved it and didn't seem to notice. TFL:)

First Time Cake; Beach Themed Birthday Cake

Hi everyone, I'm new here and this is my very first cake (ever...of any kind). I did this with help and inspiration from you amazingly talented people here on cakecentral (thank you!) and a few books. Had so much fun I decided to enrol in a cake decorating course =) Cake was a yummy rich chocolate mud covered with ganache and fondant. Decorations are melting candy/chocolate/fondant and sand made from caramel fondant/brown & white sugar mix-everyone loved it, so fingers crossed for next creation!
