It was super humid the day I delivered this cake, so the purple monogram dripped down the front. I fixed the best I could, but you can still tell it dripped.
Not entirely proud of this one, but I'm sharing it anyways. It's way more classic than I would ever pick for myself, but it's what the bride wanted. They had the florist add flowers to the top but I wasn't there for that.

This was a dummy cake I made for work. They wanted me to make something for spring and this is what I came up with. It's frosted with buttercream and the flowers and the butterfly are fake...I didn't have time to make them. Oh...and ignore the cardboard base. That was changed out as soon as I got it to the store.
A double chocolate cake with dark chocolate and white chocolate buttercream. I made the flowers out of gumpaste and all the decorations were done with royal icing and were made to look like the bride's dress. This cake was shipped via USPS and I'm still waiting to hear if it made it in one piece. WORD OF ADVICE: DO NOT SHIP CAKES! It was a pain in the butt! Thankfully, their wedding was months ago so it won't ruin the day if it falls apart in shipping. They didn't have a cake for their wedding so this was the bride's valentine's day present to her husband. The last photo is what the cake looked like when they got it...needless to say...I will not be shipping a cake again. Live and learn!

This cake was made over 5 years ago...my handwriting has improved since then.
This was my first attempt making gumpaste flowers...they looked gorgeous, but I didn't quite make enough of them...there are many bald spots.
This was my first attempt with poured sugar.
A snickers cake, covered with a chocolate ganache and sprinkled with powdered sugar. The drum sticks and peanuts were made with chocolate modeling clay.
