Spiderman
This strawberry cake is covered in MM fondant. The letters and buildings are Wilton fondant. The letters were hand cut from fondant using a computer printout as a template. I drew the spiderwebs with an edible marker. It worked great on the fondant. My son loved his cake...especially the Spiderman action figure that he got to play with after the party!

Pony Cake With Strawberries
Inspired by photos on this site, I created this cake for a birthday party at a pony farm. The girl on the pony is the birthday girl. She wanted a pony cake, and her mother wanted strawberries. I found a way to incorporate both, and am pleased with the results. Two tiers are strawberry cake, and the middle is chocolate cake. I used MM fondant to cover and create most accents. The pony and rider were sculpted from Wilton fondant several days ahead of time. The strawberries are MM fondant, and were also sculpted ahead of time so that they could harden.

Waterfall Fairy
This was one of my birthday cakes, and still one of my favorites. The butter cream cake was decorated with butter cream roses and royal icing flowers. Piping gel was used for the waterfall, and the rocks were pieces of marshmallows dipped in gray tinted white chocolate. The fairy is a figurine.

Whimsical Girl Cake
This wedding cake sized creation was actually for my tweenage niece's 10 year cancer survival party. Each tier was made of three layers of cake and sculpted to create a mad hatter style effect. The cake is covered in homemade marshmallow fondant and is decorated with marshmallow fondant decorations and gum-paste flowers. I found the cute H at A.C. Moore.

Andy's Bedroom
This double chocolate cake was filled with chocolate frosting and covered in butter cream. Homemade marshmallow fondant was used to create the bedspread, cover the Rice Crispy Treat pillows, and cover the floor. The wood grain texture was created with various cutting tools and painted with edible paint. An edible image was used to create the Bullseye pattern on the quilt. The headboard was made with Wilton rolled fondant, which dries much faster than my homemade fondant. Various Toy Story toys top off the finished cake. The kids at the party wanted to play with the cake instead of eat it. It was a hit!

A Bug's Life
This double chocolate cake is filled with butter cream frosting and covered in chocolate frosting. I iced it carelessly for an outdoor feel. Heimlich the caterpillar has a rice crispy treat base and is covered with Wilton rolled fondant, I then hand painted him with edible paint. He was a labor of love, but I am happy with the results. Flick the ant was also created by sculpting Wilton rolled fondant. The leaves and rocks are homemade marshmallow fondant.
