I decided to overkill on he vines and leaves. Not bad for a first time cake though.
First time ever piping a message, it looks ok. It's a 4 layer cake inside... rotating colors, purple, white, purple, white... many compliments, it looked fabulous when cut. I wish I had pics.
I love the bloody effect here done with piping gel. Fabulous cake, very difficult to cut. I'd never advise anyone to try a cake like this, very messy to cut.
It's a lousy picture but on the sides of the cake there's sporadic piped words like trust, honor, friendship, commitment, love, respect, and so on. Tons of compliments on this cake at the wedding.
Sadly I was running low on fondant so was not able to cover the burger patty in fondant and my tomato slices look like slices of prosciutto.
It wasn't a very well done cake because I cut the top of crooked which made it incredibly difficult to pipe those little pearls on the top. Also, I was trying to ice the cake while it was still warm... and you know what bad things that heat does to icing.
