Late And On Time.
This was two cakes for a DODS teacher who two college kids were coming back to Korea for the summer. Their birthdays were months before but celebrated in June. A surprise, one was for the sister who was told it was for the brother and the brother told party was for the sister. He likes the drums and sports. Sister likes softball, singing, theater etc. Wanted to try the drums, would do so much differently next time. Was told they looooved the cakes. Hubby did the cymbals and sticks. Last minute so we could not try the cymbals from fondant.

Hello Kitty
This cake was for a Col. in the Army PCS-ing from S. Korea to Chicago. She gave her soldiers no instruction but she wanted Hello Kitty and for me to make her cake. She wanted a black Hello Kitty -I guess for "mature" Hello Kitty fans. I had never seen or heard of. (I did find one after the fact) She looooved her cake & cut it with a Saber they gave her for a gift. MMF and the "ruffles" were layered hearts. First time trying either. Cut from a 12x18 sheet. Greeting is a MMF covered sugar cookie.

Bridging Ceremony
Girl Scouts Bridging Ceremony here in South Korea. Was given little direction except for the greeting and it needed a rainbow. The lil girl looooved the cake as I was happy. Ran out of red icing. aaarrrugh. wanted to do fondant, but this was easier as not given a lot of time. Next pic is how I had to deliver the cake (favor). Boxes are limited here in Korea unless you order. I buy some for 9x13 from Korean store next door. I live 30 minutes (walking) 8-driving from one of the bases where delivered. I live on the 23rd floor and have a 10 month old. Not easy to take a cake down. ahahha This was on his stroller. It made it safely!!!!!!

Grape Me.
Last minute, no direction cake for a person who doesn't celebrate his birthday but his assistant ordered him a cake anyways. He is a Army Chaplain here in South Korea. I asked his favorite scripture. He was very very happy with the cake. Real sugared Korean grapes. This bunch was w6,358 won ($5.00) off base. Very expensive. Very sweet. And the smallest I could find. Ivy wreath underneath w1,000 ($.90) had wax paper underneath to keep it from contacting the cake and a memento to him. I cannot do in fondant as of yet.

Busy Dress
Cake for a very busy lady I was told who is in a lot of Organizations. I was given no direction and had no idea what to do. I did not want a lot of writing on the cake so I opt to do the initials. I don't know the lady. I live on the 23rd floor. (Apt. living normal in S. Korea) She refused to come up and get it on her bday, so one person was sent up to retrieve this and another cake. :(. I see much flaws, but was told she started screaming & was very very happy. Her fav color is blue, but I guess inside joke for me to make it purple. First time trying a gumpaste stand up dress.

Ultrasound/sonogram Cake
Baby shower cake. Was only given the colors and she wanted to put the pic on the cake. We have to go to the commissary here and ask them to put a pic on edible image. Would love to buy an inexpensive printer for images. ($8) per pic @ commissary. Shower-goers loved the cake. Hard trying to work with buttercream or MMF with the S. Korean humidity.

Pcs Time.
Cake for family PCS-ing (leaving-moving) from South Korea to Texas. I was given no direction on the cake. I did not know the clients who ordered nor the clients who it was for (small Army base community). I just knew they were moving to TX. So I tried my hand at some fondant accents for everything Texas! Have few fondant accessories etc. Not many times trying the rose. I wanted to try the airplane idea. Should have made it thicker. Found out later from a friend who knows them on fb who used to be here but now in TX, that the family are Longhorn fans. (I put Texas A & M on the cake) ahahah They still loved it. I look at it with needs work. ahahah

19Th Organizational Day
Last minute cake for 19th ESC here in South Korea on the Army Base. They originally wanted 6 sheets but not pay the full price for them. So the man ordering said we really really want one of your cakes so they ordered one sheet. (I put the round atop as a extra freebie) which is the 19th ESC logo. For an Organizational Day in partner with the Girl Scouts. When hubby & I got there, all but 5 pieces was gone! Another sheet was there but more than half still left. I am no where near where I would like to be decorating but that made me feel good and the compliments on the cake I heard and NOT many ppl knew who made it!

Colorful
A last minute cake favor. Given no direction, just they need a cake. I saw this design on pinkcakebox I think. I did not do it justice. NONE! Something I wanted to try. First time trying leapord print and new at fondant accents. Not level. Initials are of 3 of the churches on base here in Daegu, South Korea. One of the Chaplains is leaving Korea so this was called in as as a last minute favor. I don't even attend there. I even delivered as a favor. I love caking, icing, smiles, baking, etc, but sometimes people test your patience, last minute, not knowing what they want or no kind of direction, nada, complain of your prices etc (even after discount) which decorators always doing nice "extras" & not charging. I don't think I will accept any more orders from certain clients. More headache than was necessary. Excuse the mess, sorry.
