I found a great tutorial online and decided to give it a go since I needed to make cup cakes for a memorial service. they were fun to make and a hit with everyone.

Shrek Cake

butter cream yellow cake with chocolate filling. the "shrek" characters were hand painted on fondant. the swamp sludge is green dyed pine apple filling. cup cakes accompanied this cake.

Bumble Bee Camaro

Bumble be camaro birthday cake. Car was carved from cake baked in a bread loaf pan and covered in fondant and the bottom is cake is butter cream.

Julie's Rainbow Cake.

This is a very special cake for me. It's all butter cream. It was for a friend of mine who had a baby girl a week before her actual shower. the shower was pushed back for after the baby was born but the baby ended up in the hospital. when finally release we were able to have her shower. It was great to make someone happy with my cake. The rainbow had a special meaning for the mother. It didn't make all the bad things go away but for a little moment it made you forget the chaos. Unfortunately at 3 months old after touching so many hearts this sweet baby was returned back to the care God and his angels. I will never forget this special cake and I will for ever be touched by this sweet little babies life story. I encourage any one to make donations to to help fund research for mitochondrial disease.

My First Cake: Sponge Bob

This was the first cake I ever decorated. It was for my nephews Sponge Bob themed 4th birthday party. the cake it's self was covered in buttercream but the details of SB's face were done in fondant along with the green spots. This is when I fell in love with cakes.
