Little Shop Of Horrors - Audrey Ii
This is an Audrey II cake (and cupcakes) I made for my daughter's high school production of Little Shop of Horrors. The bottom (flowerpot) is chocolate/chocolate, and covered in fondant. The top (Audrey II) is green velvet cake with mint chocolate chip buttercream, covered in fondant.

Christmas Nativity Cake
This was a cake I made for our school Christmas party. The bottom tier is a humminbird cake with lemon cream cheese frosting, and the top tier is yellow cake with eggnog frosting. The cityscape enclosure is gumpaste with fondant accents, and the nativity scene is a mix of fondant and gumpaste. Inspiration for the cake came from CC member 'dittle': http://cakecentral.com/g/i/3144773/birthday-cakes/ I didn't change very much, because the original is such a great cake, but I thought it would make a perfect setting for a Christmas nativity.

Mad Scientist Birthday Cake - Dangerous Package!
This was a cake for my son's 11th birthday. He was having a mad scientist party, and we decided this might be a good way to represent the theme. He's ordered a new pet to take over the world! WASC (which is his favorite), with a standard american buttercream. The box sides and top are modeling chocolate (first time working with it--pretty intriguing), and the tentacles are fondant. Packing peanuts are marshmallows, obviously. Images are on edible paper/edible ink. Thanks for looking!

Snoopy Christmas Cake
The doghouse is made out of vanilla butter cake with eggnog-flavored buttercream, covered in fondant. Snoopy is RKT covered in fondant and Woodstock is gumpaste. All credit for the design goes to jenbakescakes. I'm still in the early stages of this hobby, and thus sincerely flattering others by imitation. ;)

Alien Autopsy (Halloween Birthday Party)
My daughter's 14th birthday party was this weekend, and she wanted an alien autopsy cake for the festivities. She was very specific that she wanted it to be scary, and that she wanted it to be gross once it was cut open. I tried my best to meet these requests, and while the cake may not be very scary--it certainly was kind of gross. More than a couple of guests declined to try a piece after the 'dissection' was complete.

Gibson Les Paul Cake
This is a Gibson Les Paul cake that I did for a friend's 50th birthday party. It's a full-size 1:1 replica of a Gibson Les Paul that he owns. Overall, I'm happy with the results, although I'm an amateur and had a lot of issues (especially with the neck, which isn't even close to level). Lessons learned: 1) Don't tackle a cake this big until I learn a lot more; 2) Don't ever buy Satin Ice fondant again as it's a real pain to work with; and 3) 14x22" cake pans are tricky to bake with.
