Khalstead's NFSC. Hot Pink Fondant. My daughter asked me to make high heel shoe cookies for the "goodie bags" for a Fashion Show to benefit my grandson's school. Of course I said "sure". (really should have asked how many first) In a week, with the help of my daughter, and the use of her kitchen which has 2 ovens, we made 500 cookies! I don't want to look at another shoe cookie again!
This cake was the biggest pain in my neck! Don't know why, it was simple enough. I guess I just had one of those "can't get it smooth days". Anyway it was for one of my grandsons who turned 3. My grandson's school had a bake sale and Christmas Tree sale this weekend. I made cookies, and 6 of these Christmas Cakes. Dawn's Chocolate Cake with Oreo mint cookie filling, sticky chocolate frosting, and Pirouette rolled chocolate wafers around the outside of the cakes. The Christmas trees were made from icecream cones, and royal icing. The sale is tomorrow also, and the cakes and 3/4 of the cookies were sold out by 4 this afternoon!
My Grandson's Catholic School was having a Tree, Wreath and Bake Sale this weekend, so I made 80 cookies. Khalstead's NFSC, rolled marshmallow fondant and royal icing.
My Grandson requested a Cat in the Hat birthday cake for his 7th birthday. I didn't have a clue as to where to begin, so I googled Cat in the Hat and came across a video of the Dr. Seuss Cake Challenge. I kept replaying Robin Martin making her Green Eggs and Ham Cake, and sculpting the cat using rkt. It was the first time I used rkt for something like this, and then I covered it in fondant, and started painting his face and hat. This cake was so much fun to make. My grandson loved it. Unfortunately, all of the pictures that were taken didn't show the true color red. I tried to photo shop the pics, and did the best that I could with enhancing the color. TFL
Khalstead's modified NFSC. I didn't have a cookie cutter for Frankenstein, so I used the skull cookie cutter, and it worked okay. Happy Halloween Everyone!

My brother in law has been challenging me for a couple of months now to make his Birthday Cake with 3 different kinds of Chocolate. Do you think I won the challenge. I made these cookies using KHalsteads NFSC recipe. The recipe is not only delicious, but easy to work with considering this was my first time making decorated cookies. Thanks KHalstead. I made these for my newest Grandsons Christening, which was today.
