I copied this idea from the internet but it was loads of fun to make and my son loved it. I make the wooden planks and the etcher sketch the night before. I found the rope the most difficult to do.
This was a lot of fun to make but quite difficult. I took a long time to get the brown right for his hair. I did his hair with fondant the night before so the pieces were hard and kept their shape.
I did this one with buttercream piped on. The decorations were done with fondant.
All done with buttercream icing. I used one of those plastic badge holders to put his photo in so it wouldn't go soggy. I put sparklers in the back to look like the rocket was taking off.
My son loved The Wiggles and wanted a guitar. It was my first time working with fondant icing and very tricky to cover the whole thing. I ended up doing it in 2 sections and covering up the join with music notes.
We shared a birthday with 2 others and each used the same car tin but decorated them differently. They were all displayed on a road and looked really cool. All done in buttercream.
