Grad Birthday Cake
My first steps in using flower paste... Oh! How I suffered over that mortarboard!! In the end, I modelled the curved part over a wee tiny glass bowl from my kitchen and it turned out alright. The cake itself is three layers of Chocolate (again!) with a morello cherry buttercream and dark chocolate ganache. It was for my little sister, on finishing her Law Degree the day after her birthday.

Easter Nest Cake
I made this cake to be raffled in aid of our village school. It's an all Chocolate butter cake with lime buttercream on the bottom layer and ganache on the top. It's my first attempt at modelling characters. I took the picture on the way out the door, so it's DREADFUL! I decorated it in green fondant with curled daisies to resemble a spring field and the nest is hollowed and covered in chocolate fondant. I filled the hollow with Cadbury mini eggs. Mammy chick is showing Daddy all their eggs and Dad is saying 'OMIDGOD!!!'

Guinness Cake
I made this cake for my Daddy's birthday. It's a carved porter cake with rum buttercream covered in fondant and glazed. The detailing was *supposed* to be run-out icing - Ouch! More practice needed here! I changed the brewing date to his birth date and the word 'draught' to 'old fart'. He loved it!
