Ghostbusters Cake

I was very surprised that my 4 year old daughter wanted a Ghostbusters cake for her birthday! It's made with buttercream. It's a lemon cake with a green "slime" filling inside made of green-tinted lemon curd. Slimer is my first ever 3D fondant figure. The car is a Christmas ornament that plays the movie theme song. Lots of fun to make!

Beatles Cake

Made for my father-in-law's 64th birthday. My first experiment with fondant! The design is based on the Beatles Help! album cover. I used black and white Satin ice for the cutouts and homemade buttercreme for the white base. The record labels and the portrait of Papa (drawn by my 6 yr. old) were done with Atco food color markers.

Clown Cake

This was my final Wilton course #1 assignment. I was really happy with the borders on this one because for once I took my time and didn't rush. I enjoyed doing the bright colors instead of the plain white buttercream.

Groundhog Day

Snowmageddon Cake

This was my second Wilton class assignment. I was allowed to write whatever message I wanted. At the time, I'd been snowed in with my little ones for two weeks and I was getting a bit stir-crazy!
