I decided to go 2D vs 3D this time because honestly...a 3D bike seems crazy hard! I'm glad I went that route though, it's cleaner than I could have done it in 3D
Made this one for my sis who is a Broadway fanatic. All the pictures are edible thanks to my wonderful printer :) This is my 4th city scape and my favorite technique (airbrushing sky then painting the buildings), unfortunately there is so much detail on the base you can't really see it.
Technically not a anniversary cake as this was an xmas gift, but close enough! Not my typical type of cake, but when I heard about the theme I knew the Wilton mold would be perfect.
Decided to go with a whoville theme for this xmas cake. Everything is edible except for the ornaments. Getting better at making square cakes! I made this for my coworkers, I can't wait to show it to them tomorrow :)
I am moving from Maine to California in 6 weeks so I made this cake in honor of myself! Not the type of car most people would want in cake form, but it is MINE and it's going with me on the trip! I included edible images of myself and some of my favorite cakes from the past year :D It was on the small side since it wasn't meant to feed many so I wasn't sure if I'd be able to get the lights in but they did.
Oh I loved all the details in this cake, but I must admit I was not sure the cake was going to stand! This is the most extreme topsy turvy I have done, and from the back it really looks like it will fall over, but this was my favorite angle. Everything is edible, in my orignal design I was going to have a fish in a little bowl with blue piping gel. It looked so cute but it was too much for the top of the cake, and ruined the flow anywhere else so I took him out and chopped him in half, I like the way he turned out :)
Superhero cake! I was very excited to play with my new edible printer, definitely adds something new to cakes, can't wait to use it again.
This cake was for my mom's bday. This design changed so much while I was working on it. I went to the craft store looking for peacock feathers and found this interesting topper (it was all one piece). When I placed it on the cake it was way too big so I cut off the feathers and moved them around. I love when random things come together so nicely.

Feels good to come up with an original design for a cake....feels like it's been a while!
This was a 6" cake surrounded by cupcakes for a joint bday. I must admit I wasn't feeling very inspired when I first started it but by then end it turned out to be one of my favorite recent creations!
I have learned my lesson! (only took me a few times...) I will no longer try to replicate other people's work. I loved this design when I saw it and wanted to do the same, but first my skill is not equal to the original, and second I feel no connection to this cake afterwards. I think I should have been more inspired, and instead done a topsy turvy cake and used the waves in a more original way.
