Jungle Babies Rainbow Cake
This cake was for my first grandbaby's baby shower. The theme is jungle babies, so I made fondant animals and tree, I covered the cake in fondant and leaves and then painted in greens, teal and hints of gold. The real surprise was inside. The inset shows the cake after it was cut, a bright rainbow appeared! I made six layers of cake, each one tinted a color of the rainbow. I didn't want to ruin the rainbow effect, so I tinted frosting for each layer also. It was a huge hit!

Boy Scouts Camping At Independence Rock
This cake was for Troop 60, boy scouts who were camping at Independence Rock in Wyoming. The kid on the log with a flashlight is telling spooky stories by the campfire. The kid next to him is trying to cover his ears. The other two boys are grossed out by the seriously disgusting details. Independence Rock is cake covered in fondant. The names of all the kids are on the rock. All other pieces are freehand sculpted from fondant.

Quilter's Retirement Party
This was a large sheet cake in two layers, a retirement cake for a passionate quilter. The quilt in progress shows names of her family, words of her faith, and hearts and tulips. The spools and pin cushion are styrofoam covered in fondant, and remaining sewing 'tools' are fondant. Tulips are added on top and on the left side (as this retiree's nickname is 'Tulip'). The tulip leaves are made of rice paper.

Western Leather
This western wedding was just the ticket with a real leather look, stitching and leather 'belts' on each tier. Each belt buckle had something different on it, like the wedding date, couple's monogram and their names. In order to make the tooled leather look of the belts, I bought some molding medium at the craft store and made a pattern from an old tooled-leather purse my sister had.
