I Had To Throw Something Together Quickly Last Night For An Office Party Today So I Just Used A Few Fast Techniques That Dont Require Any
I had to throw something together quickly last night for an office party today, so I just used a few fast techniques that don't require any "wait" time: painting, minimal fondant work, and swirly roses. (Branches were painted with food color thinned with vodka, and then berries, birdy, and snowflakes were cut from fondant). Super fast cake.

Lil Cupcake Cake
All butter cream finish with fondant accents. Cupcake holder was made by cutting apart a silicon cupcake mold and using it as a guide on my fondant. I just cut the fondant holder much taller. Then I (kind of) painted it (ha, I don't pretend to be an artist) with food color thinned with vodka to (sort of) match the party decor. I shaped the holder around a juice glass and let it dry a couple days. The day before the party, I filled it with alternating layers of cake and icing and then iced it like a real cupcake. It was made to be lifted off the big cake and served to baby Avery as her smash cake. Thanks for looking!

Mickey!
I stole the idea for the gloves from jbarrett573, but her cake is a million times better than mine. Special thanks to her for the inspiration! Cake is finished in butter cream with gum paste gloves, hat, and ears. I screwed up the top of this cake so bad that I had to put a red butter cream border on top to cover my mess! I've heard it said that everywhere on a cake you see a random border or flower, it's probably to cover something up. True in my case!

Sand Castle Cake
Strawberry sand castle cake. All edible. Sand is Nilla wafers, a handful of dark brown sugar, and a spoonful of rainbow disco dust. Shells are hand-sculpted fondant, hand-painted with food colors and then luster dusted. Spires are sugar cones, painted with tempered chocolate, rolled in the edible sand.
