Mickey's Club House
I was asked to make a Mickey's Club House cake and Mickey smash cake. The customer found several designs on CC that she liked, so I had wonderful pictures to follow, thank you! The cakes are iced in BC, and the accents are fondant. The stars are gum paste and glued to sucker sticks. The smash cake is an inverted jumbo cupcake, which was very hard to ice since it was so light. TFL

3-D African Spurred Tortoise Brithday Cake
A customer ordered this cake for her daughter's birthday. The young girl LOVES the African spurred tortoise, so I did my best to mimic one. I used the Wilton soccer ball pan and cut away some of the cake to sculpt it. I then mixed the scraps with icing and molded the back. I used RCT for the head and wings. Everything else is buttercream.

Baby Bug Shower Cake
A customer gave me a picture from another cake deocrator's website and asked me to copy the cake. Well, mine is a poor copy of Quaintcakes, but I gave it my best. I love her work, and I wish I could have done her design justice, but I learned a lot. It was challenging to say the least. TFL

2003 Harley Davidson Fatboy Motorcycle
A customer requested a birthday cake with a 2003 Harley Davidson Fatboy motorcylce topper. Unfortunately, I was only given one day to make the topper, so I didn't get to put as much detail into it as I would have liked. But, for a short notice request I thought it looked ok.

70 Yr Old Man's Birthday Cake
A customer ordered a cake for his father-in-law who likes to surf the net and watch his 2 big TV's at the same time while lounging in his recliner. His favorite shows are Fox News and Swamp People. I'm not too good at people yet, but the customer said his FIL LOVED it and wouldn't let anyone cut the cake for a long time, lol.

Soccer Ball And Field Cakes
OK, so I didn't realize the Wilton soccer ball was not proportioned to make a perfect sphere and attempted to make a "ball" 3 times! The last ball still looked squished around the middle, but I had to go with it, lol. Lesson's learned and all that...The field is a 2 layer half sheet cake, which was another problem all together. I had a horrible time leveling and stacking the cakes, so they were very uneven. Luckily, the grass covered all of the many flaws. After all was said and done I ended up making a whole $10 on this cake after all of the ingredients alone. I never seem to estimate the costs right, but I'll know better next time.

Ggraduation Cake With Fondant Diamonds, Cap And Tassel
This is a graduation cake I made for my nephew. His school colors were red and black, and his mom asked for a 10 in square cake covered in buttercream with diamonds. I made the cap, tassel and numbers from gum paste following Sharon Zambito's Book Smarts tutorial. TFL

Nursery Rhyme Baby Shower Book Cake
A customer ordered this for her friend's baby shower. They chose a few pictures from CC, and I tried to incorporate what I could. I followed Lorraine McKay's tutorial for the lamb, and I love it. This was a lot of fun to make, but I had a little trouble with the book pan. I'll use parchment paper next time. TTL

Fondant Birthday Cake With A Gum Paste Mercedes Benz
A customer requested a birthday cake for his wife with a Mercedes Benz in a car garage as in inside joke. He asked for a garage that was made of light brick, a shrub in either side, and a black driveway curving away. This is an 8in cake, so I had to make everything pretty small. I had a great time making this one. TFL

Pink Pirate Cupcake Pull Apart Cake
A friend's daugher wanted a pink pirate birthday cake. She found the picuture on the birthdayexpress.com site, and wanted the purse and lipstick too. Since the party was after gymnastics class my friend didn't want to worry about plates and forks, so I suggested a pull-apart cake. It was much easier than I thought to make, and I loved how it turned out. TFL
