This was a 30th birthday cake. This was my first time making such a large cake. It's a full size guitar. I had some challenges covering it with fondant. The only edible part is the body of the guitar. The neck and head are made out of foam core covered in fondant. And the strings are made with 1mm elastic cord that is used for jewelery. I have to thank the CCer who posted that in a thread. I covered the MDF board with sheet music downloaded from the internet and covered it with clear contact paper and wrapped the edge with ribbon.
My brother is a violinist and I've been waiting for a major birthday of his to be able to do this. It was my first time really doing something like this. The neck and body are cake. The bridge is made of gumpaste and the neckrest, and other black decor is made of a fondant/tylose mix. The scroll is all fondant. It's a chocolate cake with a chocolate SMBC. I covered it in white fondant and then painted it with a voka/brown gel colour mixture. The strings are made of flower wire. I printed out free sheet music from the internet that was for the violin, with several copies of Happy Birthday. I cut them down, used spray adhesive to glue them to the drum board and then covered the whole board with clear contact paper.
My MIL was having a prayer meeting for her birthday and asked me to make a cake, so I made a bible and put her favorite psalm on it. Vanilla cake with a hint of lemon and a vanilla buttercream.
For great-nephew's 3rd birthday he wanted a Hulk cake. This is a triple chocolate fudge cake with a vanilla buttercream.

I was trying out the recipe before actually making it for a function. I made a couple in ice cream cones, a few regular size and the rest were minis. They seemed to work out, although I wasn't keen on the ones in the cones. And the chocolate sets, but does get melty after a while.
This was a birthday cake for my sister in law that she gave me to decorate. It was a west indian fruit cake so I covered it with marzipan and then fondant and decorate with gumpaste roses. I need to practice my writing.

This was for a welcome baby party. I used a scratch strawberry wasc from here and a vanilla cake for the cupcakes and Sugarshack's buttercream for the icing. The cake on top is two layers of the strawberry and one of vanilla with strawberry puree mixed with the ABC for the filling (and a thin layer of the puree on that) covered in ABC.
This was for a friend's daughter's first birthday. I wanted to make it something special. 6/8/10 red velvet with white chocolate cream cheese butter cream under fondant. The crown is made of gumpaste and paint with silver airbrush colour. Inspiration taken from many cakes here on CC, especially chassnchase.

I was asked to make bridal shower cake where the groom is a police officer and the bridge is a lawyer. They wanted the police car on the cake and the face of the groom in the car with tbe bride hanging onto the light on top. Cake is french vanilla with raspberry puree filling and vanilla buttercream. Car is RKT covered in fondant, bride is gumpaste, lettering was done on the cricut (first time trying it).
This was for great niece's 3rd birthday. It's an 11x15 cake. Thanks to all the inpiration here on CC. I had a lot of fun doing it.

I was lucky enough to take a class with Bronwen Weber this week where we learned how to carve a dog and use an airbrush. I LOVED the class and she is such a fun person. This is not the best pic I have, but the only one right now.
I made these cookies for my nephew who is a huge White Sox fan. Sugar cookies with fondant, edible image and royal icing.
