More Than Words
This is an original design I came up with a while back when I was sketching cakes and because I haven't had a reason to make it, decided to do a fake one. It also allowed me to try out a few new techniques including ganache under fondant, stamping and more gumpaste flowers! Covered two stacked dummies in white chocolate ganache to get the sharp edges, covered in fondant and then used black royal icing for the lettering. I had just finished making the peony the day before and had the rose already. Would be a good bridal shower cake too I think and hope to have an excuse to make a real one soon!

Sugar Rose
This cake was made specifically for the rose I made in a gumpaste class. I wanted something simple yet elegant to go with it and also wanted to try the sanding sugar effect again. I love the final look but decided that I prefer the sugar over coloured fondant in general. French vanilla WASC, buttercream, fondant, sanding sugar, ribbon and a gumpaste rose.

Dot, Dot, Dot...
Yellow, grey and white polkadot cake to match friend's wedding colours (really like this combo, wasn't sure at first). WASC cake with vanilla buttercream, fondant cutout dots and silk flower. If I do a cake like this again I would cover in fondant first then apply dots for a cleaner look, but all in all I was happy with how it turned out. TFL!

Bright And White
this cake was designed around my current favorite colour combo - red and teal. i was inspired by a number of fabulous cakes on CC and got to try some new techniques! the sugar is attached with piping gel on top of fondant. this was also my first time trying the WASC recipe and it was a complete success. look forward to using it as a future staple! WASC cake, vanilla buttercream, fondant and sanding sugar. thanks for looking!
