21 St Birthday Girl
10 inch bottom, 6 inch top. The figurine is a replica of the party invite where there was a photo of the young lady when a child in a white dress and straw hat. The colour of the invites was grey silver and white. I was going to do the scroll work on the invite but did the cornelli instead - once again did not use milled sugar and the tip kept blocking so its a bit messy and uneven/blobby - I quite like doing it but its much easier when it flows well and you can get a rhythm going. One day I will get it right !!! I then painted over the lace in silver. Client supplied me the blue and white ribbon when I had already got silver so that changed by design a bit and did sort of swiss dots with blue dots to tie it in better.

50Th Anniversary
This is a 13inch fruit cake for the MIL. She made it and I travelled up a couple of days eary to ice it. Bit of a panic when the airline lost my bag with all my tips and tools and board but it arrived later in the day. Roses are fondant/tylose wired into a spray. Hard to see in photo but the petal edges were tipped in gold. The stringwork was done with a 1 tip - it kept blocking lesson learnt to use double milled piping sugar and not the supermarket stuff. Was going to be cornelli lace all over but due to the blocking tube just did large swiss dots and gold dragees. Dots a little big but looked ok - I did not want too fine a work on the top except the pyramid border. Then I went over the piping with gold dust mixed with vodka. Gots lots of compliments which were very appreciated especially from some of the old hands who have done it for years.

Ben 10
Fondant w tylose figurine. The watch has a polystyrene middle wrapped in fondant so it would dry quicker and be more stable and less prone to be broken. Tried to make the decor look like the alien bubble effect on Ben Ten - not very successful...very happy with the figurine - its my best one yet I think. Critique sub group member

10 Anniversay
Chocolate cake done for a dear friend who has done biz cards for me and is tremendously supportive of my cake ventures !!! The lace is not perfect, and the writing a bit wonky and not straight but she loved it. She really liked the swan cake I did and has used it on my biz cards so I did the same colours for her.

90Th Birthday
8 inch fruit cake. Flowers hand moulded, bridgwork and extension work (spot the broken string :) Hard to see but there is pink hailspotting on the strings. I put this photo on CC as the shadow show up the piping better. It looks more delicate and pretty in real life !!!! First time doing this style and a flower spray - I need more practice !!!!

Black And White
Photo taken before the fresh flower arrangement for the top was put on - hopefully they will send me a photo. A 12inch fruit cake supplied to me and I iced it. Was a bit of an odd shape so I had lots of padding out to do on the bottom. First time doing cornelli and quite happy. The pyramid piping on the top was done to cover up the stiching wheel mark i put on to know where the cornelli went to.... A bit hard to see but the ribbon has a fine silver rope tied around it which will be incorporated into the fresh white lilly spray to be placed on.

Kingfisher
My first 3 tier. 10inch lemon yoghurt bottom, middle 8 inch orange yoghurt, top 6 inch lemon yoghurt - they wanted something refreshing for a hot summer day. Fondant with tylose gerberas on skewers inserted into cake. Birds are made of fondant with tylose on a foam middle to support legs which were skewers placed into the base of foam with fondant wrapped around and made to look like wood. I did this as a removable topper keepsake and to keep the weight down and so they would not collapse. Piping on tiers to match invites. Gerberas big and bright orange as they wanted with the turquoise ribbon. They were happy with the cake - especially the birds which were specially requested as their names are King/Fisher hence the birds and the name of their property. Not too happy with the placement of the flowers - some petals broke so I had less to work with and I am just not a great arranger of flowers.

Black Swans
This was my first ever entry into a cake competion. It was for our local agricultural show and I got first place in the celebration cake section. Its chocolate with vanilla bc, covered in fondant and the swans are fondant/tylose moulded using Sifbeth/Gefion website - thanks for the great tutorial. I did add a body to the swans after as I could not get the wiring neat enough and to hide the straws I place them in to put them in the cake.

Donald Duck
This cake topper was made as requested with donald making a gesture " a duck with attitude" was modelled off a photoshopped image supplied to me with donald making a rude gesture to the powers that be that she has survived cancer. Not sure if the cake will yet be made as she is ill now and I am giving the model to the family and it will be used at a later date if the cake it to be made. The cake would look like a swimming pool with donald init on a lilo. put a a censored sticker on as I was not sure if it would be allowed.

60Th Tractor Cake
Banana cake with fondant. Tractor modelled off a photo supplied to me. It took forever to make. The colour has not come out very well in the photo and the green was not quite right so I sponged food colour onto the top to tone it in better. You can see a bit of wrap under the wheels placed there just in case it stuck to the icing for the photo. They put the tractor onto the cake at the event as it had to travel 3hours. There is a lot of detail in the tractor which does not show in the photo. I put the mans name and age on the tractor replacing the original brand and number of the tractor in the photo. I also changed the ribbon on the board to black after photo taken.

Barbie Birthday Cake
Made for an 18yr old who always wanted a barbie cake. Chocolate covered with fondant. Used edible silver for lines on the cake. First time doing a 2 tier cake very happy with the way it came out. Inspired by cake that CC member Kimboni created that the girl liked. Client loved it - said it was simple (lol) but elegant !! I am a critique sub group member.

School Building Grand Opening
Chocolate cake covered in fondant. I made this for the opening of the schools new classroom block. ( I offered ages ago to do it before the building was so complicated) The black porch and sunroof are foamcore board and a plastic sheet as time limitations and the fact nobody would care made it the easiest option as getting the measurements was hard till I had made the building so gumpaste would not have dried in time. It would have melted anyway as it was a humid day and was quite soft then it rained. The rest is cake with fondant on the board. Made the figures before I did the cake off the plans so they are a little big compared to the building but quite happy since I have not done anything like this before. It took a couple of days to make and in the end I was over it and not so fussy so its not perfect but a good representation of the building minus a few small details. I also iced 4 x 10inch cakes for afternoon tea so was a busy few days. Not the best photos - hopefully will get some supplied to me by the photographer. I am a critique sub board member.
