Made for my MIL's 78th birthday. Caramel Mudcake with white chocolate ganache and covered in fondant.
Last Minute Cuppies
Literally thrown together at the last minute as birthday cuppies for my aunt. I was quite pleased with how they turned out.
Hot And Steamy Christmas
It was such a humid australian summer that my choir boys look like they are sweating!
Gold And Black Soccer Ball
My first ever soccer ball, can't say I'm in love with doing them. Vanilla butter cake base and chocolate mudcake ball.
Caramel mud with caramel filling and white choc ganache. Made for my FIL's 77th birthday.
I was really just playing around and decided to use up all my flowers. It came out so pretty.
Inspired by other CC'rs I decided to make a bubblegum machine for my sons 11th birthday (should I say HE decided I would). Cakes are red velvet with cream cheese frosting tinted blue. Cake was a great success and suprisingly easier than I thought. First time stacking as well. I love it when a cake comes together!
I made this for my lovely friends birthday. All fondant with gumpaste daisys. Chocolate cake with caramel filling and chocolate ganache. It's a pretty, happy cake just like her!
My son had fractured a bone in his foot and his classmates had been so helpful that I wanted to say thanks (in the best way 8 yr old boys understand - CAKE). The them they had been studying at school was spiders, hence the cupcakes. Body of the spider is made with melted choc, coconut and rice bubbles, liquorice legs and smarties for crazy eyes. The boys loved them and they were so much fun to make. i actaully got a round of applause.
My very first attempt at a carved and fondant covered cake. Made for a little girls 9th birthday with a beach theme. Overall I was pretty pleased with myself and the little girl was delighted. At serving time they spread raw sugar (which I had supplied) over the board to make it look like sand.
Ugh, this cake gave me some trouble. My oven was on the blink so I had to use my neIghbours oven, which kinda threw me out to start with. Then I covered my cake board two days ahead of time, only to find that someone had knocked the cover slightly sideways so a little Gecko (small Australian lizard) left me a little calling card. So, a mad scramble to find some yellow cardboard. The fondant covering went well, the building of the cake went well. My fondant wasn't red enough so I painted it with gel colour. Went to bed happy. The next morning the bottom of the cake had sunk, my white fondant had sunk and cracked, I smudged the red because it wasn't dry ............ fixed it all the best I could with royal icing and toothpicks. My son and his friends were delighted and everybody knew what it was. It was one cake I was happy to cut up and destroy the evidence!
