2 Sweet Peas
This was an "almost disaster cake"...I wish I would've taken pictures of what was supposed to be the bottom tier. It was just awful! I think the temperature in the room I was decorating in was just too hot and humid. So my bottom tier fondant basically just melted off the cake even though it was almost frozen. So this is the top tier and the fondant was cracking and tearing everywhere, and since I didn't have any extra fondant left, I had to patch things. But luckily the flowers and vines covered that up for the most part. All the toppers and flowers were hand made with mm fondant. Thank goodness this was a baby shower for myself and another friend, so everyone understood!! It's a butter pecan cake with cream cheese icing and banana slices with cream cheese as the filling. It wasn't the prettiest thing ever, but it sure tasted amazing!!

Peanut Butter Reese Cup Cake
This was my first peanut butter reese cup cake and my first time making home made icing. It was super fun! The icing is just peanut butter, butter, and powdered sugar if I remember correctly. With a little bit of milk. It was delicious! Reese cups were only put on the top of the cake with melted chocolate on top. The birthday boy really enjoyed the peanut goodness!!

Island Golfing Birthday
Made this for a friend's surprise birthday party. He loves to play golf on the beach and so I put a golf course on an island in the ocean. 3 layer, 2 tier yellow butter cake with vanilla icing and plastic golf figurines. This was a huge hit at the party and I felt good about the outcome! Unfortunately the writing on top did not stand up the way I wanted. It sunk down into the grass, but everything else went well.

Baby Blue Birthday Cake
This is a two tier, yellow butter cake with cream cheese icing and baby blue dyed fondant. The "wacky" design on the bottom tier was to add a bit of flare. I accented the blue with artificial purple and blue hydrangeas not only to add elegance but to represent amethyst, the birthstone of the month the birthday girl was born. I was very proud of the outcome, being a beginner. And the birthday girl loved it too!
