Lightening Mcqueen
I was scared to death to make this cake because I'm not experienced with carving nor car detail/proportion. I like the results but if I had it to do over, I would insist the customer orders a cake to feed more than 25 so I would have more cake to work with. 2 weeks after I made this one, another customer ordered one with Lightening McQueen AND To-mater. It was then I realized I should have worked from a template instead of free handing it a second time!

Sushi Cake
First time I've ever attempted to make sushi and was soooooooo surprised at how easy it was to do.( I love the "real" look anyone can make using fondant and some food color!!) This cake was for a woman so I gave it a more feminine look by adding little cherry blossoms!! The chopsticks are gumpaste. Chocolate syrup sits in the fondant dish. Can't get any easier than lime green fondant for wasabi!!

Sorting Hat
This is a classic example of good fondant gone bad due to humidity and late planning. I did not have enough supplies on hand to make more fondant and had to just make due, at 1 am, with the torn fondant I was working with. The glasses cracked right when I was delivering the cake so I used royal icing to "patch" them, The wand is gumpaste. Snitch is RK covered with fondant with royal icing wings covered with gold powder. I'm so glad small children are "forgiving"!!!

Sushi Bamboo Cake
I used mm fondant for most of this cake. The little dish is gumpaste and I used chocolate sauce in it!! I had to order the white sprinkles for the rice but I actually think white coconut works a bit better. This cake was for a man so I used bamboo trim instead of flowers like I did on the sushi cake I made the week before for a woman!
