A Koala Bear Birthday Cake Using Wiltons 3D Teddy Bear Pan The Bottom Legs Are Repositioned Since A Koala Bears Legs Face Forward Like Our
A koala bear birthday cake using Wilton's 3D teddy bear pan. The bottom legs are repositioned since a koala bears legs face forward like ours do. I used a grass tube to make the fur. I used fondant to make the eyes, nose, claws and leaves. I wanted the fur on the ears to stick out more so they looked furrier. But am happy with the end result. And the birthday girl asked if she could skip cutting the cake and add one more koala to her collection. She had to settle for a pic of her cake instead. lol

My 4 Year Old G Baby Picked A Garden Theme For Her Party This Year So I Made Her A Small Cake And Cupcakes With Bugs And Flower Decos All
My 4 year old g-baby picked a garden theme for her party this year. So I made her a small cake and cupcakes with bugs and flower decos. All are chocolate and yellow cake with buttercream icing and fondant/gumpaste decos. I didn't want to spend a lot on a little cupcake stand so I made my own out of a cling wrap tube and some 1/2" foam core boards. I used ribbon and foam pieces to decorate the stand.

Birdhouse Cake
I made this one for an elderly gentleman's 95th birthday because he likes to make birdhouses. The birdhouse itself is completely edible. The roof was a couple of 6" cakes carved into a cone and covered in fondant tiles. I chose to hand paint the tiles with brown food color rather than take the time to color the fondant brown, and actually am glad I did. I love the effect so much better. My wonderful hubby made my stand for me.

Nightmare Before Christmas
Made this one for a little guy who loves Nightmare Before Christmas. Jack's head is a ball of RKT's covered in fondant. The pumpkin was made with two bundt cakes and covered in all buttercream. All decorations are gumpaste and fondant. The birthday boy and family loved his cake as soon as I walked in with it.

Blue Scrolls
I did this for a friends daughter's b-day. I was fortunate enough that they allowed me to just be creative. All the blue, except the scroll work, is fondant, The white and the scroll iping is buttercream. As I piped I stopped about a third of the way around and would go back with a pair of tweezers and add edible blue pearls on the scroll work. And these are my first realistic looking roses too. I don't have the same tools as most so I improvise. I used the medium leaf cookie cutter, thinned out the wide end with my finger tip, rolled the first one into the center bud and then layered on more "leaves" as needed. And then the entire cake is covered in edible glitter as well. Wish that would show up in photos!

Ice Cream Sundae Cupcakes
These were made for a friend with no preferences as to design. So I decided to have fun with them AND my 17 yr old daughter did most of the work since I was working on a wedding cake at the same time. The wrappers were from Micheal's new collection and were picked because they looked like bowls. Both chocolate and yellow cake with buttercream frosting swirled on top. Then drizzled with a little bit of chocolate syrup and sprinkled with Jimmies. Finished with a Maraschino cherry and a Pirouette cookie.

Goat Cake
I stressed over these goats until the last minute. I was trying to figure out how to represent the goats realistically enough to please the birthday boy who raises goats. The b-day boy said it was the eyes and the ears that made the goats look like goats. This was also my first lemon cake with lemon buttercream frosting which tasted fabulous!

"jennifer" Wedding Cake
This is my 2nd wedding cake. I named this cake after the bride who requested a "Bling" cake. I was extremely happy with this cake. This is a 4 tier (14",12", 10", 8"). The 14" was a "dummy". Devils Food with chocolate mousse filling and covered in Satin Ice Buttercream fondant (My first time using a pre made fondant, and it tasted WONDERFUL!!). Silver satin ribbon and Diamond wrap around each layer. The broaches were actually barrettes that my client found at "Icings"; I don't suggest using the barrettes as they did not allow me to scrunch my bow to get the pleating like I wanted to. The top and 3rd layer have edible sugar diamonds attached with royal icing, all other diamonds are glass. And then the clients chosen purple orchids for just a splash of color.

First Wedding Cake
This was my very first wedding cake, made for my brother's wedding. 6",8",10" & 12" tiers of marble cake with Strawberry Cream Cheese filling, covered with all buttercream. Hubby made me a cake stand from a round purchased from Lowe's with a 5/8ths" dowel screwed and glued in the center; then drilled holes in my cake plates to fit over the dowel. We stacked the cakes (all beautifully smoothed) on site. We had trouble getting the 6" to settle into place and hubby got impatient and shoved down with his hand destroying my perfectly smooth surface!! I cried. A couple of times since it took me forever to fix that layer! But it all came out in the end. In spite of the frustrations I was actually pretty happy with my first wedding cake. And the bride & groom loved it!!

Fire Truck
This was my first vehicle of any kind. I did this fire truck for a 3 year old boys birthday. He wanted a fire truck. It's all covered in MMF, the little fireman and fire hydrant are also all fondant. The inscription was a very last minute bright idea; I had written out the inscription and then decided at the last to go back and add in water drops, so it made it look like water or dripping with water. I can't share the video, but the little guy loved his cake so much that when mommy turned her attention away from cutting it, he reached and got a nice big mouthful of cake!! He loved his cake. lol

Iphone Cake
I'm very proud of this cake. I think it's the best I've done to date. I put a lot of work into hand painting and sculpting the phone icons from fondant. The iPhone is rice crispie treats covered with MMF and all accents are MMF and hand painting. My black fondant fell apart on me so I hand painted all the zebra stripes. The birthday girl loved her cake and claimed the iPhone portion just hers!
