Buttercream cake with fondant accents. It could have turned out a lot better, but it's pretty good for a first try!
This was my gingerbread "house" for a 2009 Christmas Gingerbread Competition. I took 1st place for the College Division and Overall Grand Prize. This was my first attempt at working with gum paste, fondant, and gingerbread. The difficult part was using only edible items (only thing that could be non-edible was the base).
