Owl And Pussy Cat Cupcake
This cupcake is a vanilla sponge cupcake. I did this cupcake back in May for Edward Lear's birthday (author of Owl and pussycat poem) It was decorated using inspiration from my Idol - Karen Portaleo's owl and pussycat cake (although i nowhere near do it justice) I won a national competition with this cupcake It is still sitting in my cupboard as i cannot bear to throw it out (and its too old to eat lol)

Tutankhamun Mask
This was a vanilla sponga base (up to shoulders) then RKT for the head, buttercreamed and then covered with fondant coloured yellow. I inscribed Hieroglyphs on the back (i have many images of the actual mask of Tutankhamun - so all the items on the bust are as true to life as possible). I used Gildesol and Antique gold to give the cake a burnished Gold look. The beads on the front (the neckdress) took about 4-5 hours alone. the beard was made separately then attached with a cocktail stick and a bit of Royal Icing. one finished the whole cake was sprayed with Glaze spray to give the shiny gold look. I covered the board and handpainted the scarab and Heiroglyphics (which read a message along the Lines of "Tutankahmun - ruler, sovereign of this land. Son of Akenaten etc etc" I then added coloured sugar to simulate sand as if its just been discovered.

Goodbye Cake
The recipient of this cake was a capt. in the Army who was leaving for Canada, but also loves Base Jumping and is going to become a Vicar when he leaves the Army. The cake is Vanilla sponge, covered with grey fondant and decorated to look like the top of a sky scraper. The model is gumpaste and is personalised (even down to the red parachute pack). The gravel on the top of the building is Caster sugar (coloured and dried).
