3 Stacked books with Black and Yellow theme for Xavier University and stethoscope to represent her Pre-Med major.
7,8,9 in cakes. The brim is a 10in board covered in fondant. The customer bought Alice in Wonderland Figurines to place around brim. Everything else was made of Gum Paste and/or Fondant
6 in Cake with 1 dozen matching cupcakes. I made the stand with cake boards and ribbons. First time and it came out great. Gum Paste Tiara done less than 24 hrs before cake was due, so I was nervous. I added tylose and it dried perfectly.
Giant cupcake baked in wilton pan. Colors and concept taken from one of Andrea's cakes on her Flickr. Very fun and very easy...working on doing a neater job as caking is still very new to me.
IPod cake for my 18 year old sister. She loves RV cake but I was worried that the cake would be too soft to hold up, but it worked out. Everything done out of Duff's Fondant which tastes great. No more wasting time making MMF for me.
Made this cake for my best friend's graduation from college. Two 8in square & the top is a styro dummy. First time making fondant roses....I added some tylose powder because I didnt have any gumpaste. First time covering the board with fondant too and to my surprise it was really easy.
This was not the original idea for this cake, but it's what materialized. Originally wanted to add a styrofoam wedge to create a whimsical look, but discovered I needed to cut & trim styfo *after* it was covered in bc & fondant, so I just tossed it. Getting closer to turvy, but still scared.
