When people asked me what I was making, I described it as more of a scene than anything else. Fred the lolypopman seeing the kids across the road safe. The school gates and other kids running around their running track. The cake itself was all about the school. Logos, 'You can do it' expressions, and different things that are painted around the school. I loved making this cake for them and it was so good all the kids got to see it. They got such a buzz out of it, It made my day. Happy Birthday Strathmore North
This book was the top layer of a cake I did for the local schools 50th birthday. Chocolate mud. A favourite for most aussies at the moment.
Hi-5. Chocolate Mud, Fondant covered and cutouts. Simple but the kids love it.
2 chocolate mud converse shoes. I nearly threw these out the door a couple of times. I spent twice as much time on them than I first thought. I was very lucky the customer was so happy. Not looking forward to the next converse order.

I'd seen this cake so many times and finally got a chance to make it. Thanks to whoever did the original. The belly is made from a soccer ball tin. Love it.
Firstly I have to thank David from Davids Cakes in the UK. (if anyone out there doesn't know him, look him up...WOW) I watched him make this cake on Youtube. My friend wanted a 3D motorbike cake and to be honest this was the best way to do it without having to build a structure to hold up the whole bike. So effective. I used royal to get some texture on the board for the grass then pipped trees on the horizon. Once that was dry I used watered down gel pastes and painted to get the background. The tank is the cake and the handles are fonfatnt. Very different one to make but I love stretching the limits.
Doc Martin Shoes. Made from chocolate mud cake. 2T at the back. Fondant covered, Shimmer and extrude shoe laces. They are probably a size 9 (Aussie sizes).
Customer bought me in a picture to copy of this T-Rex for his girlfriend who is dino crazy. The cake underneath is Choc mud and the dino on top is all fondant and hand dusted with a paint brush and edible chalks.
Number 1. Customer supplied the figurines but this cake was a lot of fun to make. Cake is white raspberry mud and covered in fondant.
4T Maybe wedding or maybe an older ladies hat. I'm not really sure about this one but I had to have a go at doing 2 tone, or 3 or 4 tone. I hope it inspires someone out there to do better.
The Scotsman is made of fondant and tylose. I used edible markers to do his features and a ribbon for his skirt. I was pretty happy with this for a first time.

This is highly unusual here in Australia, but I got asked to do a 'cheese cake'. This cake is made out of cheese wheels. It is 5T's of cheese and decorated with olive branches for peace, figs and grapes,and the white flower that the bridal party wore. You can't see the little cheese that sit's on the top. I loved doing this cake. It opened my eyes to anything is possible.
Cake and treasure inside. Outer shell is a chocolate dome. It is a great idea for little kids that can't blow out the candels and if you don't want them leaning over fire. They get a kick out of hitting the chocolate shell with a hammer
