I made this for my besties wedding along with 10-8" cakes that were on round wood slabs as the centerpieces. All together I made 36 layers of cake, 52.4lbs of buttercream and 16 burlap roses. I also made simple flower bouquets for the bride, maid of honor and bridesmaid (me).
Meet Bob...Bob had a makeover! lol This was made with Styrofoam cause the last two cakes I made for the birthday boy he wouldn't cut into them. One of them is still in the freezer from over a year ago. So this one he can keep forever! Original design inspiration is from Avalon Cakes that the client sent me to re-create. My most Challenging cake to date....Dead Zombie Cake (HUH?...as opposed to a LIVE zombie? lol) Isn't he lovely? Zombie was inspired by a little figurine (in picture) who's owner said to me, "Make this into a cake!" and VOILA I did! Body is Red Velvet cake, limbs and head are RKT, covered in Modeling chocolate. First cake that I had to pull "all nighter" with.

Man in the Moon Cake. Inspiration for the cake came from very talented graphic artist (and Birthday Boy!) Mark St. John from Pinprick Productions. His sister wanted me to make this as this is one of his favorite characters that he creates, his rendition of the iconic image "The Man in the Moon" from the movie "A Trip to the Moon". Happy Birthday Mark!
40th Birthday Cake. The theme was Black, Bling and Sexy. Top tier is black fondant with a edible shimmer dust satin effect, middle tier black lace stencil (my first time stenciling) over pink fondant, bottom tier is black fondant covered with black crystal sugar, each layer has a band of rhinestone ribbon and fondant/gum paste Fantasy pink flower. The client provided the "40" cake topper, which is not in the pic. I love how it turned out! TFL!
