Star Wars Cakes
These are two 9" round carrot cakes that I made. The yoda is for my husband's birthday and the boba fett is for my brother's birthday (they are a day apart). The icing is vanilla spiced rum buttercream (tasted like egg nog!!). I used the mighy muggs dolls as inspriation. I saw where someone else had used them as inspiration as well and used that (i'm sorry i don't remember their names!) everything is fondant except the shadow's on boba fett's mask and the darker green on yoda. they were both done by hand painting. Thanks. :)

Timmy The Turkey
This was a cake I made for the youth Thanksgiving dinner at my church. I made the turkey out of a half ball pan. I had originally used two halfs and made one large fat turkey but the tail feathers started pulling the bottom off so I had to cut the poor thing in half! Each feather was cut with a petal cutter and then the design was done by hand. I realized after covering the whole thing that I should have put a layer of fondant underneath the feathers instead of putting them directly on the buttercream. This is a chocolate cake (I used the WASC recipe) with indydebi's buttercream recipe. Everything is edible with the exception of the turkey's head an neck. The head is a styrafoam ball and the neck is a dowel. Thanks for looking! :)

Grandaddy And Austin
These are figures that I put on top of my Grandaddy's 76th birthday. He love to make and fly model airplanes so I decided to use that as a jump off for my cake. My son, Austin, is his only great grandchild so I also added him to the cake. They are supposed to be flying an airplane together. This was my first time ever trying to make 3D models and I am awfuly proud of myself! Thanks for looking!

Mario Bros 3 Cake
This is a dummy cake that I made for the local fair here. It was inspired by Super Mario Bros 3 for the original Nintendo. It is all fondant and all hand cut (except for the stars). The top tier has all the different types of Mario throughout the game and the bottom two tiers have an example of each level. It took me about 2 weeks to complete, on and off. I was really proud of it but didn't win a ribbon. I guess I should have looked at the type of fair I was entering it in (small farm town!). Thank you for looking!!

Daisy Bridal Shower Cake
This was my first try at making gumpaste flowers. All the daisies are gumpaste. The cake is a cake mix because the buyer had a really small budget and the bride is lactose intolerant. (FYI- If anyone needs a guick dairy-free cake Duncan Hines carries several dairy-free products). I hope you enjoy! Any comments would be appreciatied! :)

Sesame Street First Birthday Cake
This was my first attempt at making a cake. It was for my son's first birthday so it was important to me that it be made by me. I had never used fondant or royal icing before so it was an adventure. I cut the numbers, letters and stars out with a cookie cutter and made the faces of the characters using an exacto knife and icing. It was tedious but I think it turned out pretty well.
