57 Chevy Bel Air
This was a birthday cake for my husband who still talks about his first car, a pre-owned 57 Chevy. Took it to the restaurant for his birthday party and it was a big hit. I learned a lot while making this car. For those like me who aren't professionals....paint the silver parts after they are attached to the car and if you make a mistake, a bit of Vodka on a paint brush takes away any stray paint--like magic! Also, keep a picture handy for reference and make a list of the accessories you want on the car. Check off the list as they get added. If I had done that, the car would have had side mirrors (oooops).

Happy Birthday Jackpot
I wanted to make something special for my brother's surprise birthday party. This was my first attempt of making anything other than a box cake mix and I had no idea of what I was doing (or getting myself into). Cake is lemon WASC with Michele Foster's updated fondant . Made a ton of mistakes (as you can see) but learned so much. It's miles from looking anywhere near professional but It was a big hit at the party and most of all, my brother loved it. A big thanks to all the CC'ers who sent me messages of help and encouragement.

Flower Birthday Cake - Easter Theme
This was a birthday cake for someone who loves flowers and gardening. Her birthday is close to Easter so we combined everything. These were my first gumpaste flowers. I have a lot of practice to do but she loved the cake. Apparently she didn't see all the flaws that I saw.
