Apple Barrel

Pumpkin spice cake with pumpkin cream cheese filling. MmM! Fondant wooden planks, Rice Krispy Treat apples covered in fondant. This was a fun one to do- I learned a lot! Mostly I learned that I should have made the wooden planks out of something a little more durable or at least let the fondant dry longer. Thanks to everyone for the inspiration!

Medical School Graduation

For my boyfriend's graduation from medical school! This wasn't the final version- I went and added a caduceus pin made of fondant and I put a tag in the collar of the shirt that said "MD"... Medium or Medical Doctor, you decide :) I painted the patch with a needle using gel coloring- everything's fondant!

Water To Wine

I made this for the end of my girls' rosary group and my friend's engagement. The Wedding at Cana seemed to incorporate both events well, so I went with a water-to-wine theme :) The fondant work is a little sloppy, as is the painting- but I was more excited that it held up! The water pitcher is made of gumpaste and coated in royal icing- so it was a lot heavier than similar beer can cakes and I wasn't sure if it would stay suspended.
