Sparkling Peonies Birthday Cake
This was the tallest and most blinged-out birthday cake I've ever made. The client asked that every inch of this cake sparkle and shine. I made a custom mauve color for the fondant, used gold sugar gems and made colorful peony flowers. Lots and lots of time and love went into this and it was a pure joy. The best part was the mother's reaction to the final product. xox

Deluxe Hello Kitty For Icing Smiles
This is the second cake that I have donated via Icing Smiles Inc. This was a special request by a little girl turning 6 years old, at her half-wait point of chemotherapy. It's hard to explain how much time, love and prayers were put into this gift. The top tier is Neapolitan with cake layers of Classic Chocolate, Vanilla Italia and Strawberry. The bottom tier was Dark Chocolate. It was decorated in fondant and the piping was done with royal icing. To all of my friends who have love and butter cream to spare. Please make the time and contact your local Icing Smiles representative so that you too can give a special gift to a child who deserves a special treat. xox

For Baby Dahlia
The ombre pattern has been incredibly popular this year and I'm noticing that many people are starting to prefer the taste of butter cream over fondant since I can still achieve a pretty look and texture with it. This cake is covered in pure vanilla butter cream and adorned with a dahlia since the baby's name is Dahlia

Turquoise Ombre With Peony By Mili
The bride and groom's goal was to have a large ombre pattern cake in shades of turquoise with one giant peony flower to the side. Because the bride had a very specific color shade in mind, I had her go to the paint department of her local hardware store and select the exact shade, that way, there would be no confusion. The end result was an exact match to "Sweet Rhapsody", a Behr paint color. This is the last bottom and darkest color used for the ombre pattern. I loved the results. The cakes was piped with fresh and pure vanilla butter cream.

Bubbles For Kayden
The theme for this birthday was all about bubbles. I made the sugar bubbles and balls out of green apple and blue raspberry Jolly Ranchers since this is for a children's party and I don't see the point in the decor unless it tastes good! :D The top tier is my "Aloha" cake, with layers of Perfectly Pineapple and Mango cake and guava butter cream. The bottom layer has Chocolate, Vanilla and Strawberry cake layers to make a Neapolitan. ;D

Ocean Meets The Sunset
I came up with an ocean meets the sunset concept, inspired by the lovely sailboat with waves cake from One Sweet Slice. The client asked for something bright and beautiful for their 18 year old who loved the beach/ocean. I wanted it to be sophisticated and gorgeous. Inside, the bottom layer is Sunset Velvet cake in shades of red, orange and yellow and the top layer is Raspberry. Each tier has nine shades of fondant. Lots of work and lots of love! It was an absolute joy.

The arms and legs and fondant with piped frosting to match the rest of the body. I painted a pearl white sheen over the set frosting. ;)

Mili's Tribute To Shabby Chic, Valentine's Day Cake
This Valentine's Day cake is my tribute to the romantic and rustic look and feel of Shabby Chic by Rachel Ashwell. I was taught how to make the roses by the wonderful Jacqueline Butler of Petalsweet Cakes. I put a lot of love and time into making this cake and I'm very proud to share the photos. Since the photos were taken, it's been hit by a yo-yo by a little someone in my life but that's all right. What am I going to do with a faux cake anyway?! :D
