Armadillos, Slugs, Worms...oh My!
Cake made for my neighbor's daughter's birthday. Her favorite animals are armadillos & banana slugs! Armadillo, slug, giant "11" earthworms, and "wooden" sign molded from gumpaste (black jimmies for eyes on 'dillo & worms). Buttercream otherwise, with crushed oreo "dirt". Oh, and a few random gumpaste flowers with sugar pearl centers. Came out much cuter than expected! TFL!
6 & 8 in round cakes. Decorated with buttercream with fondant and gumpaste accents. Lei made out of gumpaste and strung with dental floss. Gumpaste flowers, fondant circles and towel. Made a "22" to go on the towel for her age. Graham crackers/brown sugar mix for sand.
6 & 8" rounds, strawberry cake with buttercream filling, covered and decorated with fondant. Plastic Margarita glass is from Pier1. TFL!! :)
8" round, covered in fondant. Penguin made from RKT & covered with fondant as well. I thought the little penguin came out super cute!:)

Monster Energy Grad Cake

Lea Grad Cake
I made this cake for my little brother's graduation from the Law Enforcement Academy. It was a disaster! It was originally covered with navy MMF (it was horrible!) - It has been so humid here and trying to cover it was such a disaster - sticky and tearing, etc. So, this wasn't the way I wanted it to come out! So, results :10" square, WASC, covered in buttercream with fondant/gumpaste accents. Good thing it will just be family eating the cake:)
21St Birthday Cake
8 inch round covered in fondant with fondant zebra stripes. Gumpaste roses, painted with luster dust for some shimmer ~ same with "21" plaque. Buttercream shell border.
8 & 10 inch rounds, WASC (tie-dyed). Covered in MMF with fondant zebra stripes. Gumpaste stars, letters/numbers and bow. Buttercream border. Stars covered in GSA Twinkle Dusts.
Cake made for a friend - needed to incoporate her husband's graduation, mother-in-law receiving award, and father-in-law's birthday. Asked for ideas on the forum and this was one of the suggestions! (Thanks!) 9x13 WASC with buttercream decorations. Gumpaste daisy.
Fun & Funky!
An 8 yr old designed her own birthday cake! 6" round, 8" square, and 14" round, covered in buttercream with fondant accents. Gumpaste tiara. TFL!!
Course 3 Finale Cake
6" & 10" rounds. Covered in "Rhonda's Ultimate MMF" (I think I still prefer Satin Ice). My fondant work wasn't the greatest, and my icing was a bit too soft (practice makes perfect, right?), but I thought my roses looked great :) TFL!
Wilton Course 2
Basketweave cake for course 2. Not perfect, but the basketweave wasn't as scary as I thought it would be!:)
Gumpaste tiara - Template : thanks to spottydog! *modified somewhat* to include the initial in her first name - Sprayed with edible luster spray and topped off with Rainbow Twinkle Dust! (& a BIG Thanks to Loucinda for the instructions on how to make it!! You rock!)
More Cupcake Bites!
Loved making the first ones so much, I tried it again! (Again, thank you Bakerella). These are actually a little bigger than she makes them because I bought the wrong mold, but it worked out okay! They are dark chocolate fudge cake with peanut butter dream buttercream icing. Couldn't really tell the peanut butter in them, but they were still good!
Thanks to inspiration from Bakerella on the Cupcake Bites! They're fun to make and look SOOO cute ~ and are a big hit! These are strawberry cake with cream cheese icing, dipped in candy melts.
Small, Simple Wedding Cake
Wedding cake made for my husband's grandmother. White cake with classic BC, and BC beads and flowers. Still pretty new at all of this ~ not anywhere near as good as the decorators on CC! You rock!
I had seen a picture online of a tie-dyed cake and decided to take a crack at it! So fun and easy to do! (I also made my son's smash cake tie-dyed, it was a big hit!) Now, my nieces always want me to make them one!
