My 40th Birthday cake. Due to my tight timeframe this cake wasn't as perfect as I would have liked. The squares are not as straight as they could have been and the middle tier was a bit off center. But it was still very cool. Top tier was chocolate cake with a mocha filling, middle was french vanilla cake with strawberry filling and the bottom was chocolate cake with peanutbutter filling.
Cake is covered in fondant with roses made of flowerpaste the border is buttercream. Large cake is chocolate with peanutbutter filleng and the smaller one is french vanilla with a strawberry buttercream filling. The colors were inspired by the paper on the cakeboard!

I made this for a friend's birthday. He is a mechanic so I decided to do a toolbox. It is a french vanilla cake with buttercream frosting covered with fondant. (this is my first try with fondant) I made the tools out of 50/50 fondant gumpaste. There are wrinkles in the fondant but it is not too bad for a first try.
