Bon Voyage!
I made these for my brother-in-law's surprise farewell party. He's off to Afghanistan for a year for a work assignment. Toppers were made with candy coating and fondant. Cupcakes were WASC, rum cake, or dark chocolate fudge. Frostings were coconut cream cheese, vanilla BC, or ganache. TFL!

From The Fondant To The Bow...
This was a yellow butter cake with peach filling that I made in Course 3 as a gift for a friend who recently had a baby boy. It was my 1st time covering a cake in fondant. This cake was a disaster from begining to end. First, the cake wasn 't really sturdy enough for the fondant and sunk a bit once I covered it. Then, I tried to put the luster dust on the bow after I placed it on the cake b/c I forgot to do it beforehand. I made a mess as you can see! Lastly, it was covered in Wilton fondant and that fondant tastes HORRIBLE!

Snowy Valentine's Day Cake
Valentine's Day is my bday (yipee!) and my hubby and I had been snowed all week. We got a record 50 inches of snow in the same week! So, my Valentine's Day was snow and roses! Buttery vanilla pound cake filled with fresh strawberries and cocoa whipped cream and crumb coated with chocolate frosting. Covered with MMF, butter cream roses and leaves, and rosettes (with mini candy hearts!), and MMF snowflakes.
