This cake was so fun to make!! I had full creative license as the client just wanted something purple and pretty. She likes to scrapbook, so I added some different textured pieces to make it look scrapbookish. The color isn't true to the actual color, looks more blue in this pic because of the poor quality, but it was brilliant purple hues.
This cake was decorated to mock the look of the wedding invitation which had very detailed scrollwork throughout. I piped a like design on the cake freehand in royal and painted it with some pearl powder, gold dust, and pink petal dust mixed together to get a unique color. The flowers on top were of gumpaste and used the same color to do the edging on the flowers to carryout the look. The monogram I chose to do so it looked stitched to match a set of napkins that the couple had on the table. Not a great photo as it was with my iphone, but should be able to see pretty well none-the-less
This suess inspired cake is covered in turquoise fondant and decorated with white, yellow and pink pastels. Free-formed yellow flowers adorn the top as well as misc finger flowers made of gumpaste.
Three tiered square cake wrapped in ivory fondant with royal icing piping detail. Complimented by blush pink calla lilies and green orchids.
