I made this little cake for my Mom's birthday. It is my first fondant cake. I tried to make a fondant bow but it fell apart so I ended up with the little rose. I am still learning. You have to make a lot of cakes to learn the proper technique. I have a long way to go.
This is my first butter cream cake. I made so many mistakes. As you can see it's not really perfect. Black chocolate butter cream and gum paste flames that were hand painted with gel food coloring and vodka. I did the best I could with a 5 month old along for the ride. If she had slept more I could have done a better job. :)
