Louboutin Shoe Cake
I modelled these from sugar paste without using a mould or cutters, as this was the first time I made a shoe I was quite happy with the result. However, one snapped so I had to mend it and lay it on the shoebox cake and the repair was then invisible! The recipient loved the shoes so much that she wanted to save one unfortunately it broke as she removed it from the board, so as a surprise I made a new shoe for her. I recently heard from her that she displays it in a glass case!

Birthday In Hospital
Made this for a lady celebrating her birthday whilst in hospital. The sugarpaste model is a likeness of the lady, and on the bed is a miniature model of the actual cake, on that an even smaller model of the cake! A cake on a cake on a cake! I just noticed that at this stage I hadn't put ribbon around the board so it still looks a bit unfinished.

Beach And Ocean Cake
I made this 40th birthday cake for a lady who loves anything to do with ships. Her daughter requested a ship or anchor to be the theme and we thought the shell and anchor design would be prettier than a ship. I used moulds for the shell and fish. I tried to make the anchor and driftwood look aged and was pleased with the result.

Golden Wedding Couple On Vespa Motor Scooter
I was asked to make this as a surprise for a couple on their 50th wedding anniversary. Their daughters remembered seeing a photo of them on a Vespa motor scooter in the sixties. It took two attempts at the scooter (and much stress) and the wheels flattened slightly as I didn't have time to dry them right out before assembling the model as I was due to fly away on holiday! However, I tried to disguise them a bit with a few flowers!

90Th Birthday, Grandpa On Mobility Scooter
This was for my neighbour's 90th. His grandaughter thought Grandpa from the film 'Up' looks like him, so based model on the character, and the balloons on the shed are in reference to the film. He uses a mobility scooter and used to love gardening, hence the garden theme. I used polystyrene balls inside the balloons so that they wouldn't be too heavy for the wires.
