Duck Dynasty Cake I Made For My Brothers Birthday
Duck Dynasty cake I made for my brother's birthday.
Made This For My Daughters Wedding This Past Weekend My Very First Wedding Cake I Was Soooo Nervous First Time For Using The Sps Syste
Made this for my daughter's wedding this past weekend. My very first wedding cake! I was soooo nervous! First time for using the SPS system too and I am now a HUGE fan! We had to drive an hour to the event location and I was so scared it would be a mess by the time we got there, but it worked like a charm. The colors look a bit pink in the photo, but the colors were a white background with ivory flowers.
Pouring Beer Can/mug
This was for my husbands birthday. It was a really fun cake to make. I was obviously inspired by all the other great mug/beer can cakes here on CC...thanks! Those are suppose to be peanuts on the tray, but it's kind of hard to tell in the pic.
Wine Bottle In Crate
I made this for my Mom's birthday. Unfortunately, the sides started getting soft when it got too warm and started looking wavy. She loved it anyway...as any Mom would. ha ha The bottle and box are both cake.
This was for my Nephew's B-day last year. It was a replica (or as close to it as I could get. ;-)) of his guitar.
I made this cake last year for my daughters b-day. The colors were more of a raspberry with aqua blue than what it looks in the photos.
I made this for my niece who has a Boston Terrier. Head and legs are RKT and body is cake. The whiskers were made with dry rice noodles.
I made this cake for my daughter's fiance's brother who just returned home from Afghanistan (a big Simpson's fan). The first sofa I made met a horrible demise. When I came into the kitchen the next morning the entire back had fallen and I had only about 5 hours to bake more cake, carve cover and finish a new one! Needless to say, that's why the couch is a little lumpy & bulging since it didn't have time to "settle" before I covered it with the fondant. Anway, it was a fun one (but for the stress of remaking it again so quickly) and he really liked it...so, mission accomplished. TFL!
Made this for my daughter to celebrate her new job! Everything on top of the cake is edible and made with gumpaste. TFL :-)
A Christmas Story Leg Lamp
Made this just for fun for our family gathering. After photographing this, I realized how much the wood showed through the fringe so I colored it in with permanent marker...looked much better. I don't know how others have gotten their fishnet so neat and even because it was HARD and it took me 4 times to get it to this point. ha ha It was still a fun one to try and it made for a good laugh at Christmas. Thanks meldancer for all your helpful suggestions!
Christmas Cookies: Tree, Elf, Snowflake
Thanks to grandmomof1 for the inspiration for the trees, and endymion for inspiration of the elf.
I made this for my daughters 21st b-day. This is my first time carving pillow cakes and also my first tiara and drapings. Lots of firsts for me...challenging, but I enjoyed it :-) The colors are actually a little brighter (and deeper) than what shows in the photo. TFL!. :-D
Made this for my Mom's birthday. (oops, forgot to clean up the fondant crumbs off the board before photographing! ha ha) This had to travel 8 hrs inside a cooler because it was in the high 90's , so I didn't put fondant on the board for fear it would just get messed up...hence the ugly green saran wrap ;-D Again, a big thanks to the those here at CC for posting their photos of golf carts and giving me the inspiration to try this.
Made this for friends moving to Florida. It was a fun cake to work on. I want to thank all the CC'rs who posted their beach cake pics which gave me inspiration. :-)
Cake base with rice krispy treats used for molding the torso, head, arms and throne. All covered in fondant with gumpaste accents and some hand painting.
Tiger Motorcycle Cake
I made this for my DH. He recently bought a motorcycle and it's called a "Tiger", so this cake is based on that. This is only the second gumpaste figure I've made and this one really challenged my artistic ablitlies! ha ha Thanks to halleyec for the tiger stripe inspiration!
Pop Corn Bag Cake
My friend and I did this one together. No occasion, just doing it for fun and practice. It's covered in fondant and the popcorn is made from gumpaste.
This was my first try at making a lobster out of gumpaste. Very fun. :-) I got the instructions from an online tutorial.
