Antique Wedding Cake
Nine white cakes with alternating fillings of raspberry and lemon filling were used to create this antique wedding cake. Each cake was covered in champagne colored buttercream and decorated with buttercream, ivory sotas and pearl trim. Artificial floral bouquets in the brides colors were used in separator plates and between the lower six eight inch cakes.

Ferret With Books Birthday Cake
My ferret-loving grandson's birthday cake consisted of three layers of chocolate cake covered in white, blue and green buttercream. Pages of books were piped on as well as the lettering. Ferret was sculpted from fondant and handpainted with food coloring. Snake and turtle are fondant. Fondant candy dish on top is filled with M&M's. The purchased, round, purple, striped ferret toy sits on a piece of cookie n cream candy bar so as not to absorb frosting.

Disco Birthday Cake
Disco cake was made for granddaughter's 11th birthday. Two layers of white cake with cream filling were covered with white buttercream and then air brushed with rainbow colors. The battery operated disco ball rotated on a base that was secured in a hollow in the first layer. A multicolored fondant wall was made to conceal the ball cone base. Silhouetted disco dancers were cut from gray fondant and then air brushed with black food color. Peace symbols were made from colored fondant, dried, and then placed on cake plate.

Guitar Birthday Cake
Guitar cake was made for granddaughter's 15th birthday. Guitar was double layer of chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream filling covered with fondant and painted with food coloring. Neck of the guitar's core is foamboard and covered in chocolate modeling clay. All attachments were made several days before out of fondant and then painted with food coloring. Strings are made from spaghetti fused together with gumpaste glue.

Picnic Basket Birthday Cake
Made for my granddaughter's 14th birthday. Basket was three layers of yellow cake with strawberry filling covered in basket weave buttercream. Cover and handles were made from fondant and dried for several days before placing on basket. Food items were made from store bought pound cake and buttercream. Exception was plastic apple and grapes.
