Inspired by Teaparty's cake. The birthday girl specifically asked for a flip flop cake. So that's what she got. Carved the flip flops and covered them in fondant. Bottom cake is covered in buttercream and crushed Graham crackers to create the sandy beach. Thanks for looking!
This was for a gentleman who played the bongos at church. I had no idea how to do this cake, but I think they turned out pretty good. It took just a little bit of carving. Covered them in fondant and painted a little bit of brown on top to make them look used. Thanks for looking!

My second belly cake, but the first one with a cleavage! I had so much fun doing this. It was for a baby shower, but the pregnant woman is not really the pink girly type. It's an all yellow cake with lemon bc, covered in fondant (gumpaste bow). Belly is made with the soccer ball pan with an extra 9" round cake underneath. Boobs are made with two of my soup bowls. This cake was for the baby of an Italian couple (Jacopo is Jacob in Italian). They wanted to incorporate Italian candy, called "confetti" (they are the blue candies on the bottom tier border). I colored my fondant to match the candy. Top tier is lemon cake, bottom is yellow/chocolate marble, all with vanilla buttercream and covered in (Satin Ice) fondant. I do have to give credit to "cakesrpretty" where I found the inspiration for the design. Thanks for looking!
This was for a couple who wanted an all white weddingcake. And they wanted it really plain: no flowers or anything. That's why I alternated the decorated tiers. They had bought the cake topper. It was challenging to construct this. The bottom tier consists of 7 6" cakes. The 7th cake is in the middle covered with a 6"cake pan for extra support (and it worked!). Thanks for looking!
I made this cake for my friend who turned 50. Last year I wasn't too nice when I made her a birthday cake (it said "50 minus 1"). That's why I wanted to be nice to her this time. It's a lemon cake with vanilla bc (yummie!) covered in fondant and fondant and bc decorations. With thanks to caseyleann87, her "purple birthday cake" was the inspiration for this cake.
This was a birthday cake. The birthday guyy was actually wearing this green cast because of a broken leg. That's what I call good inspiration for a birthday cake! It was my very first cake disaster though, because the foot broke off during the night (haha, broken leg and foot breaks off). Thank goodness I noticed it in time to fix it. Thanks for looking!
This is my first shoe and shoebox cake. I couldn't finish the cake the way I wanted to because I ran out of time. Next time: start sooner!! Thanks for all the tips I found on CC and especially to Lingin, where I found the idea for this cake.
This was my first belly cake for a surprise baby shower. Since we didn't know the sex of the baby I chose a neutral colour. Belly is a marble cake with an extra chocolate layer (I used the soccer ball pan which didn't turn out bumpy enough). The boobs are yellow cake, since at least one of the guest doesn't like chocolate (I don't know from which planet she is!). I used two of my soup bowls, because I couldn't find the right pan for it. All covered in fondant with a gumpast bow.
This cake is for a 17-year old girl. Top tier is chocolate cake with raspberry icing covered in pink fondant. Bottom tier is lemon cake with vanilla icing and covered in fondant. Her mother is allergic to chocolate so that's why the cake are two different layers (and it leaves some room for nice roses!)
This was for an 8 year old boy who was mesmerized when I entered the room with this cakeon his birthday (that's why we do this!). It was a yellow pound cake with vanilla buttercream all covered in fondant. The chimneys are rice krispies treats covered in bc and fondant, the smoke on top is bc again.
This was my final cake on the fourth Wilton cake decorating course. The daisies are made with gumpaste, the box on top is a gumpaste/fondant mixture and the rest is fondant.

I made this cake with my husband's help, because I can't draw! So I made the cake (yellow cake with vanilla buttercream) and used a white/blue marbled fondant and he created the helicopter. It was a cake for 4 of his students who graduated from flight training.
Just finished Wilton course 3 today and I'm so proud of myself! But if I compare it to other cakes.....hmmm, there's always room for improvement.
