Surf/ Beach Themed Engagement Cake
This was my 4th attempt at using fondant, my first attempt modelling with gum paste, and my 2nd cake that I've sold! This was for an extended family member who got engaged. Her partner is a pro surfer and part owner of a surf brand clothing label, they both love the beach and enjoy holidaying in Bali, so I made a cake which reflected their interests and lifestyle. The crab is sporting a moustache in aid of Movember, as I made the cake in November. The two main tiers are chocolate cake, the tiki hut is made from sculpted vanilla cupcakes. The decorations are made from both fondant and gum paste; the sand is crushed wheat biscuits. The writing was added later.

13Th Birthday Graffiti Cake
This was my 3rd attempt with fondant, I ran out of time with this one and was up painting it until 3am the day of my daughter's party - yikes! It was pretty messy and rushed, but she loved it anyway. It's chocolate cake on the bottom, vanilla cake on the top, iced with chocolate icing. It's covered in fondant and hand painted with gel colouring and vodka. The designs on the cake came from her favourite singlet top :)

Hello Kitty Surprise Cake
This was my 2nd attempt at using fonadant. This cake was for my neice's 12th birthday (my first cake sale! :P) She likes Hello Kitty, rainbows and "girly things" and her favourite colours are pink, turquoise and purple. It's vanilla cake with pink vanilla icing. All the accents are fondant, the pearls are covered in lustre dust. As an added surprise, when she cut it open, the inside was dyed to look like a rainbow :)

In The Night Garden Cake
This was my first attempt using fondant. I made this for my son's 2nd birthday, the design came from a photo I found on Flickr (if anybody recognises the design please let me know and I'll credit the artist!) Both tiers are chocolate with chocolate icing, covered in fondant. Accents and scenery are fondant. The figurines are plastic.
