This cake kept me up the night before cause I was so excited that I was going to tackle basket weave, I kept planning it in my head. It was my first ever attempt at basket weave. I was so excited to start it that it was begun even before I had my second cup of coffee gone, need I say that cake decorating gets me all hyped up? It was a double layer with a thick mocha filling between the layers and the frosting was just run of the mill out of a can with color added, Instead of using a piping bag I tried parchment triangles cause I noticed my hands get a lil warm and the icing gets a lil to soft it worked out great. Once more it was sent to work with hubby where it was happily devoured.
This was my second cake I ever did, not counting those ones where I pulled icing out and slathered it on with a spatula for my kids as they grew up. The first cake I did was for halloween and I never thought to take a picture of it, it was cute but this is my first serious try at making roses etc. Hubby took it to work where it was happily devoured and I caught decorating fever. lol
