Dracula The Musical Cake
Requested by a local high school for their Dracula musical they were putting on. My first paid order, and my first 3D/sculpted cake! Cake is 24x17, all red velvet (naturally!), black fondant over that. Then I sculpted the face out of rice krispies, covered in gray fondant and hand painted the shading on it. Royal icing letters painted with red food coloring. And a final touch of red food coloring for a neck bite! Was hard to fondant the whole thing..I didn't buy enough black (expensive!), and it wasn't cooperating so I had to do it in two sections with a seam in the middle which I'm not happy about, but oh well I think the face detracts from it :) So happy with how it turned out, learned a lot!

Turkey Cake!
My first attempt at a sculpted cake. I thought it came out so cute! Pumpkin cake with cream cheese icing. Used a giant cupcake pan and put it on it's side, carved that out. Fondant was tinted tan and then I rubbed brown gel food coloring on it by hand and smeared that around. Then I took some shelf liner and laid it on the fondant to give it that grid effect. Legs were made from rice krispie treats, fondant on those as well. Stuffing is just bits of cake chopped up, and mint to look like herbs. Used a ball tool on the lettuces, and made the cranberries out of fondant too. It was so much fun, people thought it was the real turkey!
