First Frost
Final Cake for my Fondant/Gumpaste course, and my Thanksgiving cake (I know mine is small, but my wife is in the same class, so we have a lot of cake). Green fondant base and ribbons with handsculpted fondant/gumpaste pumpkins. Everything was painted with some dilute dye to fill in cracks and accentuate the dark areas. Sprinkled crushed edible glitter on top to give it the appearance of ice crystals forming.

Undersea Cake
I had made this for my Wilton Course 3 "present" cake but the store had a power outage that night and so rather than waste the cake I decorated it with some leftover icing we had laying around. We had blue, white, and green so I decided to whip up some orange, and as you can see made it a underwater cake with schools of fishes floating about.

Kidney Cake
This was my first cake for the Wilton gumpaste course. My fondat marbled beautifully and I thought my daisy's looked pretty good (a bit orange in the center but otherwise good). However, as you can see, the drape I made is a hideous color. I initially wanted a nice woody brown, that started looking terrible so I tried somebody's suggestion and mixed in some red. That gave me kidney color.

Wilton Course 3 - Final
This was the final tiered cake for the Wilton Course 3. I was in a hurry and was putting the whole thing together about an hour before class. Because of that it ended up being kind of lumpy looking, so when I went to finish off the decorations I turned it into a "hippie" cake.

Wilton Course 1 - Clowns
This is my clown cake for Course 1. It was made with green tea flavored icing. It started out a nice vibrant, leafy green and gradually got darker and darker. As for the dinosaur and the creepy glasses...well my wife added those when she put it on facebook. In her defense, it was very early in the morning.
