This was for a family friend who loves Harry Potter and fantasy. He also loves his mischevious little cat which is why he made it onto the cake as well. Red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting covered in MMF. Hat is made of RKT covered with Wilton fondant. Glasses and cat are Wilton fondant and tylose powder. I used the cake cricut to cut out the letters for the happy birthday. Inspiration for the hat was from a Debbie Brown book.
I made this cake for my step-mom's birthday. She has 2 black labs that are always counter surfing :). Triple chocolate cake with buttercream icing. MMF with Fondarific decorations (mixed with tylose powder so it would harden). One dog looks dopey and one looks worried because those are the personalities of her pups. I didn't have RKT so I made the chair out of squished up wonder bread covered with fondant, it held up okay but I wouldn't recommend it. If the party had been a day later it the chair would have been a gooey mess. Thank you Aine2 for your youtube tutorial on making puppies!
I made this for my husband who has a yellow/blk/gry Skidoo Summit snowmobile. He loves it so I tried to copy it (sort of). The cake is french vanilla and the frosting is white chocolate buttercream. I purposely didn't smooth it to try and make it look like snow. I also sprinkled powdered sugar on top. Snowmobile is made of fondarific fondant. Trees are sugar cones covered in green buttercream frosting.
I made this for a friend who plays baseball and loves the Mariners. Everything is edible. Helmet is 50/50 fondant mix (and took 3 days to dry), bat and ball are made of RKT (rice krispie treats). White cake with milk chocolate bc frosting. I also used the cake extender recipe from this site and it works fantastic to stretch out your boxed cake and make it taste like it is from scratch.
Made for our HR manager that was leaving our company (Lyca Till is Good luck in Swedish). Chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting. All decorations were made with fondant. I used a real zipper to make and indent on the fondant then painted in the silver. I got the idea from someone else on this site.
Made this for my mother-in-law bday. It was my first attempt at making my own mmf and it was a definate learning curve. MMF got a little droopy but all in all it turned out decent. It was strawberry cake with vanilla frosting. Gumdrops, Lollipops, candies and swags all made out of fondant.
Made this for my friend who was having a girl. Chocolate cake with peanut butter bc frosting. Fondant covered and fondant decorations. Shoes and rattle are 50/50 fondant and gumpaste mix. You can't really tell but the dots are actually made to look like buttons. This was my first fondant cake and I had no idea what I was doing, took me about 20 hours!
