I made these two Elmo cakes for a little girl's 2nd birthday party. One is a 2-layer 8" cake, and the other is a 2-layer 6" cake (the birthday girl had her own cake!) No Elmo cake pan used here - I carved the head shape, and sculpted the eyes and nose out of cake and topped w/ fondant for a smooth look. Fun!
Ladybug birthday cake! Used two 6" and 8" layers of smoothed buttercream (no fondant!), oreos for the spots, and black M&M's for the pupils. The mini ladybugs on the cake board are colorflow icing dots, and I drew the black marks on them with an edible marker.
This is my 3rd cake - I am currently taking the Wilton I course and wanted to try out some of my new skills, as well as practice baking in my stainless steel mixing bowls for a 3D effect. Success! =)
