85Th Birthday Rose Garden
Peanut butter cup and stawberries 'n cream cake. Hand painted fondant with sugar flowers. This special cake was for my grandmother's 85th birthday. She was so sweet, said she'd never seen such a fancy cake. I told her she deserved it and she told me, she didn't know about that. :) I didn't get any good pictures of the cake do to timing and poor lighting. :( The fondant really is white. ;) Tfl!

Piping Galore
Wedding cake gift for a cousin and his new bride. American style buttercream, fabric ribbon, silk flowers, and many hours spent piping! This was my first time experience with drop strings, not too shabby for no practice! Flavors were double chocolate with cookies and cream filling, strawberry with strawberry filling, and french vanilla with apricot filling. TFL!

80Th Bday Rose Garden Celebration
This cake was for my grandmother's very special 80th birthday. My family had a huge open house and party for her. Grandma has a very green thumb and the front yard always has a big show of roses in the summer. She also quilts, so the hearts had quilting stiches on them. My thought was that you're sitting on a quilt among the roses. IMBC icing, gumpaste/fondont roses, strawberry cake, double chocolate w/canoli filling, french vanilla w/apricot filling. This is one of my favorites! I never have a hard time cutting into one of my cakes...but this one was different. lol TFL!

Fall Aspen Leaves
This cake was for my best friend. They were married in the Colorado mountains last September when the Aspen's were changing. Everything was on the rustic side, with lots of natural items being used. The Aspen leaves are handmade gumpaste, icing IMBC, cake was red velvet (her family fav!), carrot, and french vanilla with apricot filling.

75Th Birthday
Last minute request from a family member of a family member. This gentleman is a farmer and also a tractor mechanic. The colors represent all the kinds of tractors he worked on. The icing isn't perfect, but I'm fairly happy with it. I always seem to have trouble getting cbc smooth. Tfl!

Baby Bump With A Punk Rock Twist
02/06/10 Anther baby bump...pretty much exactly like last weeks. I would have done my sister's differently had I known the color selection was going to be the same. Only other thing I would have done differently would have been to make all the polka dots skulls. This particular skull is The Offspring's symbol. Unfortunately, the symbol was a last minute request, so I just didn't have time to do more. :( Vanilla cream cake w/ raspberry filling, raspberry vanilla buttercream, & fondant

Bouquet Of Purple Roses
My first real carving project. 6' rounds 3 high. Was supposed to be a vase filled with flowers...but looks more like a flower pot, close enough right? WASC covered with fondant. Fondant/gumpaste decorations. First time making "duff" roses. 100+ roses, the outer layer were on toothpicks with helped to hold them all in place. Had to make two sets of "50"s, neither one dried all the way, but the bigger one was usable. (it was too big imho.) This was for my sister-in-law's mom's birthday. Her favorite color is purple, she loved it! Inspired by several other cc'ers out their, thank you for all your inspiration!TFL :)

Grooms Cake Gone Wrong
So this was part of my gift to the bride and groom to go along with the wedding cake. Groom is motorcycle buff, so I thought...riding off into the sunset. What was in my brain didn't translate. Royal icing was too thin and I couldn't pipe the trees without them melting into a puddle, so I fingerpainted...lol! That's what you get for 5am I guess! Hmmm...so mountains or boobs, that is the question! tfl and laughing with me :)

Star Wars Grooms Cake
10/18/08. Decided to do a cake for my hubby at the last minute so the figures were plastic toys...but he loved it anyway! We have a great pic from the day with him wielding the cake knife as a light saber. :) chocolate buttercream...I believe it was 10 & 6" rounds. My first time making chocolate buttercream...boo! I couldn't get it to smooth for the life of me! Have it all figured out now....
