Bucket Of Beer
Done for my son's 30th. Loved doing it but ended up with a number of burns from the isomalt! Boy did i learn on that one! The middle beer bottle I put green food coloring in it. The labels are right off the original bottles. Wasn't entirely happy with the "ice" because I couldn't get it to stay colorless. I couldn't find a beer cap anywhere to make a mold so my poor beer bottles have no caps on them!

My First Cake Competition
Boy was I out of my league! Everything I did on my cake was basically the first time for me to try! I had fun doing it and discovered I really enjoyed making flowers. The green things (don't know how well they show up) are gelatin sequins. I was given the information about the fantasy couple and went from there, including that he proposed to her at the eiffel tower, which topped my cake. I see so many things that now that I've tried them I am looking forward to making them a lot better in the future.

Bbq Cake
I made this cake for my son's 40th birthday. Everything in this picture is edible except for the label on the ketchup bottle and the toothpicks holding the bbq handles on. The ketchup bottle, mustard bottle, hamburger, hamburg patty and weiners are all made from crispy treats. The watermelon straight fondant. I loved doing this but had to really wrack my brain to come up with "fire" for the bbq! P.S. the one piece of watermelon was done by the birthday boy's 2 yr old son.

Jacob's First Birthday
This cake was for my grandson's first birthday on Dec. 23rd. Although I had all kinds of trouble with the cake (used a different brand of cake mix and the fondant didn't feel right), the penguins and the igloo turned out really well. There was even a "grandma penguin throwing a snowball at the "grampa" penguin!

Baby Shower
Made this for my d-i-law's shower. Its 3 tier with the bottom and middle being chocolate with chocolate bavarian cream filling. The bottom layer has white chocolate ganache under the ivory colored fondant. The decor of this layer is taken from my grandson's crib bedding design. The middle tier I wanted to try my diamond maker and crimper (top edges) is chocolate with chocolate fondant. The top tier I tried the printed sheets - didn't like them! The baby and blanket on top are made from gumpaste.

Birthday Cake
My husband's birthday was the week after making my big shower cake for my d-i-law so I just made an extra 6 inch cake for him. Cake was a 6 layer torte (first time I've done this many) filled with chocolate bavarian cream, layered with ganache and topped with chocolate fondant - yum yum chocolate! I quickly used Duff Goldman's method of making roses for the top.

Monkey In The Bananas
This is for my son's 28th. He loves monkeys. The cake is yellow cake with very ripe bananas thrown in. I even put bananas in the buttercream. The "bananas" are made from rice crispies and covered with fondant. I stopped counting bananas when I hit 65 of them!!!! June 21st: Didn't I get fooled. An ice cream cake gets brought out at the party - after all that work I did to make this monkey - and it says on it that we are going to be grandparents!!!! I guess he was monkeying around (sorry-bad pun).

Larry's Retirement
I did this for my husband's retirement party. It took me forever! It is a replica of our backyard (kind of). It is supposed to represent him with all his tools laid off to the side because he's enjoying the pool and his grandson. I took oreo cookies and ground them up for the dirt. I made all of the flowers from gumpaste.
